Asphalt Orchestra

On August 3, Cantaloupe Music will release the debut from New York City's Asphalt Orchestra,
Bang on a Can's street band. Since it launched with five packed shows at Lincoln Center Out of Doors last year, Asphalt Orchestra has won over audience members and garnered glowing reviews from The New York Times, Economist, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 12-piece group of brass and percussion re-imagines the marching band, drawing repertoire from rock, jazz and classical with captivating new arrangements of Bjork, Swedish metal pioneers Meshuggah, American experimental composer Frank Zappa, and jazz legend Charles Mingus.

This summer, Asphalt Orchestra will premiere new commissions by David Byrne and Annie Clark, and Yoko Ono. Catch them at their UK debut at the Barbican in London (July 3-4) and their return to Lincoln Center Out of Doors (August 4-8)!
