We are thrilled to let you know that Cantaloupe will be releasing So Percussion's 8th(!) album this Fall and we'd love for you to be a part of it! Please join us on our first ever KICKSTARTER campaign and help support this new album.
Where (we) live is a multi-media, multi-artist, fully-staged theatrical event and album featuring music written by So Percussion and special guest singer/songwriter/guitarist Grey McMurray. On the heels of So Percussion's debut at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2009's Imaginary City, this project premieres in Fall 2012 at Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis, and will include performances at the Myrna Loy Center in Helena, Montana, at BAM in Sō and Cantaloupe's home town of Brooklyn, and at several other major US venues. A celebration of community and collaboration, Where (we) Live is an exploration of our outermost artistic boundaries, as well as a re-examination of our comfort zones.
Why do we need your help? Because brilliant music-making is hard work and money doesn't grow on trees! But really, this project has been in the works for nearly two years and things like studio rentals, travel expenses, paying the musicians involved, mastering, manufacturing - you get the idea! - can really add up. And what's great is that So Percussion is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so your support is entirely tax deductible.
What will you get for partnering with us in this project? We've got some great rewards for you, including a copy of Where (we) Live (out Sept. 25), a treasure trove of all 8 So CD's signed by all members, tickets to the BAM show in December, even private performances from So in your home (or via Skype). And, if you back this project by JULY 12, you'll even get your name in the liner notes of the new album! Not only will you feel warm and fuzzy inside for giving, you'll also get bragging rights forever!
Learn more about HERE and help us spread the word so we can continue sharing all the possibilities that this risk-taking new music has to offer.
