The Music of Kate Moore in 'Paradise Lost'

Thursday, February 26, 2015 - 8:00pm to Tuesday, April 28, 2015 - 8:00pm

Last year the Brazilian-Dutch choreographer Samir Calixto left a shattering impression with his 4 Seasons, that made us aware of our mortality to the sounds of Vivaldi. For his new performance Paradise Lost, he sought inspiration in John Milton’s epic poem of the same name from 1667, about man’s fall from grace and his banishment from Paradise. With a strong physical intensity, characteristic of Calixto’s work, apparently conflicting forces drive the dancers on. Light, dark, good, evil, holy and godless. Long enough until we see humanity as we know it: fragile, complex and mortal. Original compositions are by Kate Moore.
