'the little match girl passion' performed by Silbersee

Thursday, December 20, 2018 - 8:15pm

The end of the year is a time of reflection, to reflect on the events around us. Together with writer Anna Enquist Silbersee brings a winter evening with stories and reflections, words and music. The musical heart of this evening is David Langs the little match girl passion . This gripping winter passion, to the fairytale about the girl with the sulfur sticks, was crowned in 2008 with the Pulitzer Prize.

In the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, composer David Lang saw a contemporary passion story that offers both believers and atheists a moment of reflection. The words of Anna Enquist express in their own way themes such as hope, doubt and comfort. Music plays an important role in her poetry and novels. Together with the music of Jörg Brinkmann and Arvo Pärt, this promises to be a musical evening of stillness and inspiration.
