Join BOBBY PREVITE, SO PERCUSSION, JOHN MEDESKI and CANTALOUPE MUSIC for a special evening of music and raconteuring at the record release party for Previte's TERMINALS, a new work written for the spectacular Sō Percussion (Eric Beach, Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski and Jason Treuting) and a cadre of Previte's favorite improvisers. At 8 pm, Sō will take the stage to play selections from their vast repertoire, which spans the history of percussion music and beyond. Previte will then introduce TERMINALS, holding forth on his sometimes harrowing, always hilarious 40 years in music, which may include the (in)famous ‘Chicago Hotel From Hell’ and ’Johnny’s Gonna Kill Ya’ stories. To cap off the evening, Sō, Previte and keyboard legend Medeski will join forces in a command performance of TERMINALS 4 and 5, for drum set and organ, during which, if you're close enough, you might feel the breeze from the end of Quillen’s whip.
The evening will be recorded for later streaming on Cantaloupe Music's YouTube channel and other media outlets (to be announced).
