"Whatever you want to call this kind of music, whatever genre you feel that it fits most appropriately, time will remember it as a quietly dazzling companion piece to a bold reimagining of historical cinema."—PopMatters

Paul D. Miller, also known as DJ Spooky, has taken his talents remixing sound and music for the club scene, and applied them to a new medium: film.

Inspired by D.W. Griffith’s 1915 silent film The Birth of a Nation—a breakthrough in the early days of cinema that earned Griffith much scorn due to its racist subject matter and crude stereotyping—Miller's recasting and remixing of this cinematic work has toured the world. Rebirth of a Nation was originally written for the acclaimed Kronos Quartet, and will be brought to life on the Bing stage by the Catalyst Quartet. Born out of the Sphinx Ensemble in Detroit, the Catalyst are committed to playing new works by composers of color.
